Sensitive PowerBook Keys

Lately I have noticed an odd problem with the keyboard on my 17″ PowerBook (1st iteration, 1GHz): two of the keys — the “A” and “K” keys, to be exact — are extremely sensitive. Whereas I would normally have to depress a key to get it to show up on the screen, for these two keys I merely have to rest the weight of my finger on each key. Unfortunately both of these keys are on home row so I’ll frequently look up and find three lines of “…kkkkkkkk….”. There’s been a couple of people with similar problems on the Apple Discussion boards. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yup, 17″, 1.5GHz, same trouble, except that it’s the letter ‘m’.

    Here’s a demo :) mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Incredibly annoying, just started happening last week.

I wonder if it’s a short? Here’s the support thread, by the way:

My problem is with the DELETE key….imagine my surprise when I look up to the screen and a whole paragraph has been erased while I talked to someone on the phone!!!
