purdue ldap services in thunderbird

After digging around online and through trial and error, I figured out how to configure LDAP services for Purdue’s directory server in Thunderbird (I use 1.0, but priors should work too):

  • Name: whatever you like
  • Hostname: directory.purdue.edu
  • Base DN: o=Purdue University, l=Indiana, c=US
  • Port Number: 389
  • Advanced > Scope: Subtree

    Thanks so much for this information!

    May I add another helpful tip to your instructions?

    Tools->Options->Composition Tab

    Check “Directory Server” under “Address Autocompletion” and select your Purdue address book that you created in the list.

    Now the Purdue addresses will autocomplete when you’re composing your mail in Thunderbird.
